The show opened with a video that concluded with Kane saying there will be vengeance (over what happened to Undertaker)… Pyro went off inside the building. Michael Cole introduced the
show…
Ring announcer Justin Roberts introduced Mr. McMahon as the chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment. Vince walked onto the stage to a nice pop. Vince said he was sorry to start the show off on such a somber note. “Unfortunately, the general manager of Raw, Bret Hart, will not be here tonight,” Vince said.
Vince introduced a recap video of the limo angle from Raw with the NXT wrestlers and Bret Hart. Vince said he is meeting with Bret’s representatives to determine when Bret will return to his duties and what action will be taken against those who attacked him. Vince said he hopes everyone enjoys the show and thanked them.
Before Vince could leave the save, Drew McIntyre’s music started. McIntyre walked onto the stage and shook hands with Vince before heading to the ring for his match… Cole, Jerry Lawler, and Matt Striker recapped video footage of McIntyre taking out Kofi Kingston and Matt Hardy…
A shot aired of Vince climbing inside his limo backstage… In the ring, McIntyre cut a promo on Teddy Long. He called him a pathetic shell of a man as Teddy walked to ringside. Drew said he was going to make Teddy present him with the Intercontinental Title after the match…
1. Kofi Kingston vs. Drew McIntyre for the Intercontinental Title.
Ring announcer Tony Chimel mistakenly introduced Kofi from West Ghana, Africa instead of Ghana, West Africa. It’s good to have my man Pooch back at the pad to pick up on those tidbits. The live crowd was into Kofi when he came out, but they were quiet to start the match.
Kingston and McIntyre got the live crowd into the action. At 13:00, Kofi had Drew in a standing head-scissors in the corner. McIntyre flung Kofi’s legs into referee Charles Robinson and bumped him. McIntyre hit the Future Shock DDT on Kingston and went for the pin, but the referee was bumped.
McIntyre went to ringside and tossed Teddy Long inside the ring. Drew took the referee shirt off Robinson and ordered Long to put it on. Teddy complied. McIntyre made the cover. Teddy counted 1-2… Long stopped and shook his head no. McIntyre wasn’t happy and he backed Long into the corner.
McIntyre went for his finisher again, but Matt Hardy ran in through the crowd and hit the Twist of Fate on McIntyre. Kingston recovered and hit the Trouble in Paradise kick on McIntyre. Kingston covered McIntyre and Long made the three count. “Who’s pathetic now?” Cole asked on commentary…

Backstage, Savannah noted that there would be a six-person tag match with The Hart Dynasty and Natalya vs. The Usos and Tamina. She interviewed The Hart Dynasty, whom were all wearing long faces. Natalya said it’s been a long week for the family. She said they are used to adversity and will make Bret proud. Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith chimed in…
2. Eve vs. Maryse vs. Gail Kim vs. Alicia Fox in a four-way for the WWE Divas Title.
Gail Kim hit a double stomp off the ropes. Striker referred to it as a “Jumping Bomb Angel Double Stomp.” Lawler mocked him for it and clearly had no recollection of the Jumping Bomb Angels tag team.
Late in the match, Eve hit a neckbreaker and a moonsault on Maryse. Fox tossed Eve aside and pinned Maryse to win the match. Cole said that’s the danger of a four-way match…
Winner: NEW Divas Champion Alicia Fox
Backstage, Big Show entered Rey Mysterio’s locker room. Show essentially said he’d go through everyone, including Rey, to win the title. Mysterio said that as big as Big Show is, his heart is bigger…
Chris Jericho came to the ring in his ring gear and cut a promo. He ran through some of his career highlights and said he was always the underdog while climbing the mountain. He said he is now at the top of the mountain and everyone is trying to knock him off. He said none of “the parasites” can relate to him because they’ve never been the best at what they do.
Jericho said he was a victim last week on Raw when Bourne hit him with a shooting star press after the match. He said he challenged Bourne to a match in hopes of gaining retribution. He continued to sound off on Bourne until Evan’s entrance music started..
3. Chris Jericho vs. Evan Bourne. Despite Jericho’s promo, there was a loud “Y2J” chant when the bell rang to start the match. This was followed by an even louder “Let’s Go Jericho” chant. Jericho, who had controlled the first two minutes of offense, whispered into Bourne’s ear and then the momentum shifted momentarily when Bourne hit a dive off the top rope onto Jericho, who was standing on the floor.
Jericho came right back with a kick to Bourne’s head as he tried to enter the ring. The pro-Jericho chants continued. Lawler questioned whether Jericho’s recent losses were just a hiccup or a bump in the road, which tells me this is an angle. At 6:20, Bourne went for the knee press, but Jericho rolled through and locked in the Walls of Jericho, which drew a loud ovation from the Jericho fans.
Bourne reached the ropes to break the hold. Jericho showed frustration. The announcers noted that he’s used to winning matches with that hold. At 8:10, Bourne hit the knee press off the top rope for a good near fall. Jericho came back with a backbreaker for a near fall of his own. Cole noted that Jericho pounded the mat in frustration.
Jericho went for the Lionsault, but Bourne moved and Jericho landed on his feet. Bourne caught him with a kick. Bourne went up top. Cole noted that Bourne was taking a lot of time. Bourne went for the Shooting Star Press. Jericho moved, but Evan landed on his feet. Jericho caught him with the Codebreaker and went for the cover, but Bourne got his foot on the bottom rope.
At 10:45, Bourne caught Jericho with a tornado DDT. He went back to the top rope, but Jericho caught him. Jericho went for a superplex, but Bourne fought him off and knocked him to the mat with a punch. Jericho got up and tripped Bourne, which crotched him on the ropes.
Jericho went for the superplex again, but Bourne reversed it and dropped Jericho face-first on the mat. Bourne hit the Shooting Star Press on Jericho, who was lying face-first on the match. Bourne rolled him over and got the pin…

4. Jack Swagger vs. Big Show vs. Rey Mysterio vs. C.M. Punk in a four-way match for the World Hvt. Championship.
Serena and Luke Gallows walked onto the stage with Punk, but did not accompany him to ringside. Mysterio wore the Laker colors as part of his gear. Tony Chimel handled the in-ring introductions for the championship match.
The first two minutes were all about Big Show dominating his opponents. Once that was over, Show sold an injury at ringside while the other three worked. Punk grabbed Mysterio from behind around his waist. Swagger did the same to Punk and suplexed both men in a cool spot.
Show reentered the match around 7:30 and dominated everyone again. He teased the chokeslam, but everyone was at ringside so he couldn’t perform the move. Show headed to ringside after Punk. Cole mistakenly said he was wise to go after Rey because he’s the smallest man. Oops. At 9:00, Punk hit the GTS on Swagger.
Kane’s music played. Shocking. He rolled a casket to ringside. Kane entered the ring and grabbed Punk. Kane tried to put Punk in the casket, but Luke Gallows came out and stopped him. With Punk and Show at ringside, Mysterio hit the 619 and the springboard splash on Swagger for the win…
Winner: NEW World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio
Backstage, Josh Matthews interviewed John Cena, who was greeted with lots of male boos and lots of female cheering. Matthews asked if Cena was concerned about the threat of the NXT season one rookies showing up. Cena said he would like to believe that he and the other wrestlers have an unspoken agreement that they will stand united.
Matthews noted that two titles have already changed hands. Cena said he wouldn’t tell him that he was going out there to win, but he certainly isn’t going out there to lose. Huh? He said whoever walks out the WWE Champion will have to earn it…
The announcers recapped The Miz winning the United States Title on Raw…
The Miz walked onto the stage and mocked the fans in anticipation of them singing along with R-Truth. He said he came up with his own version of the song. Instead of “What’s Up,” he sang “The Miz.” He appeared to forget the words or the song went on longer than he anticipated. He said things were about to blossom because he’s The Miz and he’s awesome…
5. The Miz vs. R-Truth for the United States Title. R-Truth did his usual entrance and then told the fans if they think Miz’s rap sucked to say “What’s up.” After some back and forth action, R-Truth hit a face-first suplex. One fan in the front row leapt to his feet in excitement. The rest of the crowd didn’t share in his enthusiasm. Insert the crickets sound effect here.
At 11:15, Miz hit the Reality Check, which Cole referred to once again as the “backbreaker/neckbreaker combo.” Technically, Cole is right, but you’d think he’d learn the name of the move. Meanwhile, Jim Ross is sitting backstage. Sigh.
At 12:45, Truth went for the cross body and missed. Cole noted that he was clutching at “the injured mid-section.” A short time later, Miz countered a move and scored the pin. The announcers said Miz was able to get the win because Truth was hurting…

Backstage, Todd Grisham interviewed Edge, who questioned the mindset of John Cena now that the champions had lost their matches. He also said Sheamus doesn’t belong in the match with the other three because he doesn’t have their credentials. Edge vowed to become champion…
6. The Hart Dynasty and Natalya vs. Jimmy Uso, Jay Uso, and Tamina.Zero heat for the Uso entrance. Tough crowd. At 8:55, Tamina hit a Samoan Drop on Natlya. She tried to followup Superfly splash, but Natalya moved. Natalya came right back with a spinning clothesline and got the pin…

The announcers hyped the Money in the Bank pay-per-view. An ad from earlier in the night noted that the winner could get a shot at either world title, so it appears it’s just like the WrestleMania format…

7. John Cena vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus vs. Edge in a four-way for the WWE Championship. Big boos during the pause for Cena’s entrance music. Once it started, the women, kids, and candy asses cheered. Lighten up, I’m kidding. Sorta. Justin Roberts handled the in-ring introductions for the championship match.
Cole said the four men in the ring had held 25 world championships and had main evented a dozen WrestleMania events. Does anyone else think Jim Ross fed him those lines? The bell rang and Orton and Cena quickly cleared the heels from the ring. They had a staredown across the ring from one another and the live crowd loved it.
Cena looked to the crowd while Orton seethed. Within seconds, Cena had him up for the Attitude Adjustment, but Orton slipped away. Sheamus and Edge quickly returned to the ring. They disposed of Orton quickly and worked over Cena. There were loud dueling chants of “Let’s go Cena” and “Cena sucks.” Lawler said you only get that type of emotion in Long Island. Um, okay.
A shot aired of R-Truth, Evan Bourne, Tyson Kidd, and David Hart Smith watching the match on a backstage monitor, presumably for a potential NXT run-in. At 8:00, Orton caught Sheamus on the ropes in DDT position. Cena crawled onto the ring apron at the same time, so Orton grabbed him and hit a double DDT off the ropes on Sheamus and Cena.
At 9:00, Edge went for the spear on Cena and missed. Cena came back with some of his signature spots on Edge. He was cut off, but applied the STF on Edge at 11:30. Edge nearly reached the ropes despite Cole telling us there was no way he could reach the ropes. Cena pulled him back to the middle and reapplied the hold, but Sheamus broke it up before Edge could tap.
At 14:00, Cena had Edge up for the Attitude Adjustment, but Orton hit Cena with the RKO. He had the pin, but Sheamus stopped the ref from making the three count. The announcers quickly pointed out that there are no disqualifications in four-way matches. A short time later, Orton threw Sheamus onto the announcers.
They cut backstage at 16:00 to show Bourne, Kidd, Hart-Smith, and Truth watching the match on the monitor. Suddenly, the NXT wrestlers attacked them from behind and left them lying. A shot aired of Cena watching the monitor while kneeling alone in the ring. Lawler was shown telling someone through the headsets that he was going to help “Michael (Cole).”
The NXT wrestlers entered via the side of the stage and threw down a production worker. They hit the ring and ganged up on Cena, who was to hit Attitude Adjustment on Darren Young. Cena was quickly outnumbered by the rookies, who put the boots to him.
Edge pulled Wade Barrett to ringside. The rest of the NXT crew followed and roughed up Edge. Meanwhile, Sheamus covered Cena and scored the pin to win the WWE Championship. Sheamus immediately left the ring, hopped the barrier, and ran away. Funny.
Winner: NEW WWE Champion Sheamus
The NXT rookies went back to work on Cena in the ring. Eventually, Sheamus was shown holding the WWE Championship on the stage. The NXT wrestlers ran after him. Sheamus headed backstage and the NXT wrestlers followed. The show went off the air at 9:35 CT.
